For Now...

This has been a very stimulating and challenging year, with many hurtles and many rewards...

My current writing projects include editing for publication a volume of literary interviews I've done with such authors as James Baldwin, Nadine Gordimer, Milan Kundera and others. The working title is Politics of the Word...I'm deep into a second novel...and continuing to write feature articles, reviews and essays for print and online publications.

I am the artistic director at Levantine Cultural Center which presents monthly public programs throughout the Los Angeles region.

To celebrate the achievements of Levantine Cultural Center, I'm preparing a new anthology of creative nonfiction, short stories, poetry, art, photography and humor, working with my co-editor, Sholeh Wolpé (poetry, art) Iconoclasts and Visionaries. Call for Submissions.

I continued to be interested in finding a legal sponsor for a new online magazine concerned with criminal defense, constitutional law, human rights, civil liberties and other justice issues... Justice Magazine.
